Charlotte Seither (* 1965 in Landau / Palatinate) is a guest composer at international festivals such as Wien Modern, Gaudeamus Amsterdam, ISCM World Music Days Tongyeong, BBC Proms and the Venice Biennale. She was the first German to be awarded 1st prize in the International Composition Competition “Prague Spring” (1995). She has received numerous awards, including the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Prize (2002), and was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation. She is a member of the GEMA supervisory board, the board of the German Composers’ Association (DKV) and the executive committee of the German Music Council (DMR). She also acts as a juror and curator on international committees. In 2009, she was awarded a scholarship for the German Academy Villa Massimo in Rome. Further scholarships have taken her to the Cité des Arts Paris, the German Study Centre in Venice, the Akademie Schloss Solitude Stuttgart, the ArtLab Johannesburg and the Villa Aurora Los Angeles. Charlotte Seither is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg (EASA).

Vocations – open space 2024 will organise four evenings of radically open transdisciplinary experiments and collaborations at the interface between music, sound and poetry at silent green Kulturquartier’s event space Kuppelhalle (29.5. / 8.7. / 9.10. / 3.12.). As a meeting place for Berlin’s contemporary poetry and music scenes, Vocations offers an open space to up to twenty artists to perform at any one time, combining a wide variety of musical and vocal practices based on or rooted in poetry.
