Mátyás Dunajcsik. Polyglot. Punk. Poet. Ex-Hungarian and New German queer author. Born in Budapest in 1983, left Hungary in 2014 and has lived in Berlin since 2023. His first poetry collection written in German, “Verlorene Gedichte” was published by Parasitenpresse (Cologne) in 2023. His essay “Punk” will be published in October 2024 in the Edition Poeticon series by Verlagshaus Berlin. Bored with the traditional format of the water glass reading, his performative practice often includes music, vocals, loop and effect pedals and the mixing of voices, media and languages.

Vocations – open space 2024 will organise four evenings of radically open transdisciplinary experiments and collaborations at the interface between music, sound and poetry at silent green Kulturquartier’s event space Kuppelhalle (29.5. / 8.7. / 9.10. / 3.12.). As a meeting place for Berlin’s contemporary poetry and music scenes, Vocations offers an open space to up to twenty artists to perform at any one time, combining a wide variety of musical and vocal practices based on or rooted in poetry.
