Ulrike Draesner, born in Munich in 1962, writes poetry, fiction and essays. She lives in Berlin and in Leipzig, where she holds a professorship for Creative Writing at the Deutsche Literaturinstitut Leipzig. Her work has been honoured many times, most recently the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Prize 2024. Her latest book is the novel “Die Verwandelten” (Penguin 2023).
