Dianišková, Veronika (c) Marko Erd

Veronika Dianišková, born in 1986, is a slovakian writer. She has published four volumes of poetry, most recently “Správy z nedomovov” (Modrý Peter 2017, Eng.: News from outside) and “Zmena skupenstva” (Modrý Peter 2023, Eng.: Change of the Aggregate) as well as the children’s book “Pirátske rozprávky – The Pirate’s Fairytails” (Modrý Peter 2020). She studied theater at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia, worked in the social sector with people in need, especially homeless people, and in the cultural sector, mainly for Slovak Radio.

Writing Class addresses classism, which over the last decade has been debated in the German-language literary discourse, especially in relation to various forms of autobiographical essays. For the first time, we are bringing a number of poetic positions on this debate, which has also been held in international poetry for years, to the big stage. Four poets have been invited who approach this topic in very different manners:
