Heavenly, Zoncy

Zoncy Heavenly, born in 1987 in Kaw Thoung, Myanmar, is an interdisciplinary artist. Her work explores immateriality in body-based arts, the tangibility of collective trauma and concepts of phenomenology, and calls for an end to impunity for sexual crimes committed by the Tatmadaw, the Myanmar military junta, during the civil war in Myanmar. Zoncy Heavenly co-founded the Diverze Youth Art Platform to promote minority rights and culture through the arts. She has performed at numerous international performance festivals and was a fellow of the Akademie Schloss Solitude 2019 and the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program 2022. Zoncy Heavenly is currently working in Berlin as a fellow of the Weltoffenes Berlin program.
