Ermacova, Laurence

Laurence Ermacova writes poetry in French and German. In her literary work, she wanders along the borderline between the languages, creating breaches to allow the words of one to slip into those of the other, thus discreetly practising the art of smuggling. In 2021, she received the Berlin Senate’s research grant for non-German-language literature. She is a member of the network of French-language authors in Berlin and is involved in the artists’ collective Literatur für das, was passiert. Together with poet Neïtah Janzing, she founded the “U8 collective” in 2021 to organise poetic actions in public spaces.  Most recently published: “États de mes lieux – collected poems” (Éditions du Bunker 2024).
