Josephine Bätz, born in 1996, studied film studies in Berlin. She writes poetry, flash fiction and short prose in German and English. In 2016, she took part in the Treffen Junger Autor*innen. In 2017 and 2018, she won the national competition lyrix. Later in 2019, she was nominated for the Young Writer Award of the German Television Crime Festival Wiesbaden and functioned as the student writer in residence for Berlin. In 2020, she published a contribution in the anthology of young poems for the 21st poesiefestival berlin. Her texts have been published in several English-language literary journals (Josephine Quarterly, Stadtsprachen Magazin, Leopardskin & Limes).
