Sam Zamrik, born 1996 in Damascus, Syria, lives as a queer poet and translator in Berlin. His texts have been published on the platform “Weiter Schreiben” and in various German newspapers (including taz and Tagesspiegel). Sam Zamrik has organised workshops on the topics of exile, multilingualism and poetry, among others as part of the “translationale berlin – Festival for Literary Translation” and the “Archive of Flight” at the House of World Cultures. Most recently, the English-German poetry collection “ICH BIN NICHT” (Hanser Berlin 2022) was published. Sam Zamrik was awarded the Wunderblock Award.
